Who we are

Stop Hiding is a web design agency based in Kettering, Northamptonshire. We build websites and automated Google review collection systems for local service businesses across the UK.

What data we collect

We collect and process the following types of personal data:

• Company directors' names sourced from Companies House public records
• Business email addresses found on publicly accessible websites, business directories, or derived from publicly registered company domains
• Company details including registered name, address, company number, SIC code, and incorporation date from Companies House
• Publicly listed business information such as website URL, phone number, Google review count, and Google rating from Google Business Profiles

How we found you

If you received an email from us, we found your details through one or more of the following public sources:

• Companies House (company-information.service.gov.uk) - a public register of UK companies maintained by the UK Government
• Your business website - contact details published on your own site
• Google Business Profile - publicly listed business information on Google Maps

We only send marketing emails to UK limited companies (Ltd), LLPs, and PLCs. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails to sole traders or individuals, in compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Why we contact you

We contact business directors of limited companies to offer our web design and Google review automation services. Our lawful basis for processing is legitimate interest (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in B2B marketing to corporate subscribers, balanced against the minimal impact on individuals acting in their professional capacity.

How we use your data

We use the data we collect to:

• Send you relevant information about our web design and review automation services
• Personalise our communications based on your business type and online presence
• Assess whether our services could benefit your business (lead scoring)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely in our database hosted on Supabase (EU/UK data centres). We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access is restricted to authorised personnel only.

Data retention

We retain your business contact data for as long as it remains relevant and accurate. If you opt out of communications, we remove your data from active marketing lists within 48 hours. Your email address is added to our suppression list to ensure we do not contact you again.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you (Article 15)
• Rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16)
• Erasure of your data (Article 17)
• Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21)
• Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing

You can stop receiving emails from us at any time by:

We honour all opt-out requests within 48 hours.
